PUMPKIN CLASSIC

The Pumpkin Classic is a Windy City hosted tournament for U14, U12 and U10 age groups from clubs and junior high schools. Teams that have attended from previous years include middle school teams and clubs from Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, California, Texas and Wisconsin. Pumpkin Classic is a one day event played on turf fields. Come join us in 2025!

2026 - U14 Divison 11v11 at New Trier High School, 7 Happ Rd, Northfield, IL 2026- U12 & U10 Division at New Trier High School, 7 Happ Rd, Northfield, IL

Ages

Any field hockey team in U14, U12 and U10 age groups based on USAFH age group guidelines. Public or private school, park district or club. High school aged athletes are not allowed to participate. The Pumpkin Classic event is only for 8th graders and below. 

 

Age groups: U14, U12 and U10 (for grades 8th and below ONLY). Co-ed in all age groups. Following new USAFH Age Group Guidelines effective August 1, 2024

 

  • U14 - 7th & 8th Graders
  • U12 - 5th & 6th Graders
  • U10 - 4th Grade and below

 

  • U14 limited to 2 boys
  • U12 & U10 co-ed

 

Goalies allowed to play down one age group as needed. Sharing of field players across multiple teams is discouraged.

 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • U14 - 11v11, 24 teams, 4 pools, competing in 28 minute games, single round robin tournament format (no half time and 2 minutes between games), 4 Pool Champions named
  • U12 - 8v8, 20 teams, 4 pools of 5, competing in 28 minute games, single round robin tournament format (no half time and 2 minutes between games), 4 Pool Champions named
  • U10 - 8v8 , 10 teams, 2 pools of 5 competing in 4 x 28 minute games, round robin format, 2 Pool Champions named.

 

Medals will be awarded to the pool winners in each Pool

 

SCHEDULE

Tourney Machine will be hosting the official schedule. Schedule released 2 weeks prior to start of tournament.
